Black Lake, NY

Canton, NY

  • Beaver Creek Country House Lodge, 4476 County Route 17, Rensselaer Falls, offers a unique opportunities for a family retreat. One of three homes renovated and owned by Dale and Sophie Lehmer, the Beaver Creek Country House, originally build in the 1800s features a medium-sized master bedroom with queen bed, a full size sleeper sofa in the great room on the first floor, and a small bedroom with a full size bed. This is truly a place that has to be seen. The acreage is nestled on Beaver Creek, and excellent for paddling, or explore the surrounding woods. Rental available nightly, weekly, monthly or longer.

    The Harvest Moon Inn features two suites on the second floor over a local café. Owned by Gary and Lee Hill, who also own Indian Head Point on Black Lake, the Harvest Moon Inn does not include onsite breakfast. There however is a kitchen for guest use. The Suites include satellite TV, Jacuzzi tub, queen beds and Internet access.

Colton, NY

  • Catamount Lodge and Forest LLC, 2092 State Highway 56, South Colton is a perfect retreat for a family outing or reunion. Located with hiking trails and access to Carry Falls Reservoir on the Raquette River, this fully equipped lodge will sleep 10 people. Nestled in the northwest corner of the Adirondack Park, the lodge features three full bathrooms, 2 doubles and 6 twin beds, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and two ovens and stoves, a dining room to accommodate 20, recreation area with bar, great room with fireplace insert, washer/dryer and satellite TV. The caretaker is located in a separate cottage next door to assist with your stay.
  • Raquette Lodge, 1800 Raquette River Road, South Colton, is a new 2800 square-foot log cabin on a scenic wilderness waterfront in the northwest corner of the Adirondack Park. Great for year-round reunions, retreats, conferences and family vacations. The lodge sleeps 17 with two downstairs bedrooms one with king and one with a queen bed; two rooms upstairs with queen and twin in one and just a queen in the other; there is also a loft with three double beds (suited nicely for children). There is also an upstairs den/TV room with full futon. (Bedding:  Pillows, blankets, comforters are provided.  Sheets and towels are not provided but are available at $12/bed for sheets and $9/set for towels). Boat and kayaks provided, close to hiking trails, cross country ski trails, right on the Raquette River. Nightly, weekly and extended stays available.
  • Ziplid Studio & Lodging, 15 Gustin Square, is a renovated historic carding mill that is open year round. It is divided into upper and lower areas and is appointed with authentic beams, stonework and beautiful views of the Raquette River. The main sleeping area, the Mill Studio, has a queen sleigh bed and antique light fixtures. The ZipLid Lodge is a miniature version of the full lodge, with kitchen, livingroom, queen-sized bed, cable television and wireless Internet. The Placid Unit is on the ground floor next to the Mill Studio building. The unit has a queen-sized bed and its own private entrance and private bath. It has a waterfront view, as well as views of the gardens. Cable television and wireless internet are also available. The property has easy access to hiking trails at Stone Valley, kayaking and canoeing, and centrally located for access to the Adirondacks and area destinations and colleges.   • Oswegatchie Cliff House, 770 Peabody Road, is next to the Oswegatchie River Lodge. Located on 85 acres, this 1850s historic barn home/converted lodge is designed for discriminating travelers who are looking for exceptionally unique and elegant vacation lodging, away from the crowds, and in a world-class setting of natural beauty and solitude. Trout Lake (Town of Hermon, near Hamlet of Edwards), NY

  • Lakeside Cottage, 20 Halcyon Way, is one of 4 vacation rentals on the Lake operated by Donna and John Clark who also operated White Pillars Bed and Breakfast. The Lakside Cottage sleeps 8 people and is surrounded by 1,600 acres of undeveloped State Forest. The three bedroom(2 down stairs each with queen bed, plus 3rd bedroom loft with two twins) cottage includes a remodeled kitchen will all new appliances including dishwasher, ceramic cook top, wall oven, microwave and more. There is a living room with cathedra ceiling, queen sleeper sofa, new furniture, Direct TV satellite TV, fireplace stove, dining room, and glassed-in porch overlooking the lake. Enjoy the hot tub and relax, or spend the days fishing, boating or hiking. Holidays have three night minimums and weekend rates, nightly and weekly rates available.

  • Long View Cottage is extremely private, sitting alone in a quiet cove on Trout Lake. It is surrounded by 7 acres of wooded land and bordered by 1700 feet of water frontage. On a small bluff sits the deck, enveloped by pine trees where one can soak in a gas-fired cedar hot tub. A large sandy beach with a shallow wading area is perfect for young children; older children can swim out to the raft or to Blueberry Island, a private island, part of the Long View property.  13' Boston Whaler boat with 9.9 hp motor, paddle boat, canoe, kayaks are provided.  A lighted bon-fire circle, a lighted volleyball court, and a private Har-Tru tennis court round out this recreational paradise. The inside of Long View has post and beam construction with cathedral ceiling and 6 skylights, massive fireplace, new leather sofas (one opens into queen size bed), kitchen, bedroom with king-size bed, loft with futon which opens into double bed, gas heater in great room and bedroom, flat screen TV with satellite service. Available April 1- Nov 1, nightly, weekly or extended stays.
  • Sunset Cottage sleeps 10. This A-frame cottage was completely rebuilt in '04, and everything in it is new, from the leather sofas to the kitchen appliances. Its multi-level decks and panoramic windows have spectacular views of Trout Lake and the evening sunset. There is a swimming area on the shoreline, as well as off the dock. A 13' Boston Whaler motor boat and a canoe are provided. Indoors, the floor-to-cathedral-ceiling fireplace, as well as the spacious picture windows and French doors. One of the leather sofas opens into a full size bed. Off the living room is the dining room and kitchen. The kitchen has all new cabinets, appliances, and is fully equipped. Also on the main floor is a bedroom w/ a queen bed across the hall from the full bathroom, as well as a stackable washer and dryer. On the second floor is the master bedroom with queen bed. On the ground level, near the water's edge, is a sleeping porch, with wrap-around screens and 2 double beds. In addition to the fireplace, the cottage has built in propane heaters.
