St. Lawrence County Civil War Re-enactment Weekend

The St. Lawrence County Historical Association hosts the Civil War Weekend the last weekend in July at the Robert Moses State Park in Massena. The military camps are open to the public from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. Mock battles between the Blue and Gray re-enactors take place 3 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Also during the day re-enactors perform military drills, talk about camp life, and demonstrate various skills including coffin-making, cooking, cannon firing, and medical practices. There is a fashion show of Civil War-era clothing, a basket auction and displays of artifacts.

Re-enactors come from all over New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Vermont, as well as Ontario and Quebec, Canada.
