Camping in St. Lawrence County
Whether your idea of camping is pulling the RV into a space with modern amenity hook-ups, or roughing it with a tent and nature, St. Lawrence County offers something for everyone. Get away from it all or make an active visit filled with festivals, fun and attractions.
St. Lawrence County has seven state operated campgrounds: Cedar Island State Park, Chippewa Bay; Coles Creek in Waddington, Cranberry Lake State Campground; Eel Weir State Park in Ogdensburg, Higley Flow State Park in Colton; Jacques Cartier State Park in Morristown; and Robert Moses State Park in Massena.

These sites are on a first come, first serve basis and have limited amenities. They are free to use. If you utilize a primitive site, please keep our environment clean, take out whatever you bring in. Contact the Department of Environmental Conservation at 315-265-3090.
In Black Lake, many of the cottage and cabin owners also offer RV and tent camping at their locations. McLear’s Cottage Colongy, one of the oldest cottage colonies on the Lake, includes a campground which is located away from the road and on the banks of beautiful Black Lake. The lawns are open and the water is shallow. Full hook ups are available for RV camping, which includes cable TV. The area also includes the Fish Bone Café, fish cleaning building, boat rentals, and a swimming area.
The Log Cabins in Black Lake also over more than 20 campground sites, which includes RV site with full hook-ups. The Log Cabins property includes a store with gifts, bait, ATM, groceries and ice, to make your stay easy and comfortable. Picnic tables are available at all sites, and toilet and shower facilities are also available for campers, as well as a fish cleaning building.
The St. Regis Campground is located outside the Village of Potsdam on the St. Regis River. The campground has both electric/RV sites and non-electric sites. The area is quiet and peaceful with access to the river for light boating or paddling. The campground is within walking distance of a store and restaurant.
In the community of Brasher Falls, also located on the St. Regis River is Riverside Campground. The campground includes 56 shady campsites, each with picnic table along the shores of the St. Regis River. Site can accommodate RVs up to 40 feet long, and includes full hook-ups including cable TV at select sites. The campground is located directly across the road from Erin’s Isle Restaurant, which includes great food and live entertainment on the weekends. The campground also has a recreation center, covered children’s playground and a 9-hole miniature golf course with snack shack.
