Hunting in St. Lawrence County
Snuggled between the Adirondack Moutnains and the St. Lawrence River at 1101 Country Route 14 in Rensselaer Falls, Town of Canton, is Basswood Lodge and Hunting Preserve. It is touted as one of the State's premier wing shooting preserves and is desnged to provide exciting hunting experiences for novice as well as veteran hunters. The facility is located on 1100 acres with three modern lodges. Animal hunts available include: elk, red deer, wild boar, fallow deer, rams and buffalo. Fully guided hunts include turkey, goose, duck, and pheasants on several thousand acres. Outdoor writers from around the State agree that it is a fowl hunter's paradise. Situated on the picturesque St. Lawarence River, with 10,000 acres of lease property to access, St. Lawrence Experience offers guide hunting excursions for deer, trophy deer, geese, duck, turkey and coyotes with hounds. With four cabins guests can stay on the River, enjoy beautiful sunsets and exciting days on the hunt. St. Lawrence Experience also offers guided fishing excusions as well for muskie, pike, bass, walleye, perch, bullhead, catfish, carp and more.
