Frederic Remington Art Museum
The Frederic Remington Art Museum is located on the banks of the beautiful St. Lawrence River. The Museum is housed in three historic homes. The Museum's collection is made up of a great selection of works from every phase of Remington's artistic career, including 17 bronze sculptures, hundreds of oil and watercolor paintings, and illustrations, which appeared in a variety of publications. On display are many personal belongings that enable visitors to have a glimpse into the life of Frederic Remington.
Frederic Remington is easily one of the most recognizable of all American artists. Born in New York's North Country at the start of the Civil War, he spent most of his childhood here and was brought home for his final rest in Canton's Evergreen Cemetery.
