5th Annual St. Lawrence International Junior Carp Tournament

August 16-18, 2007

Cost: $75 USD per contestant through July 16, 2007. July 17 until the tournament (as space permits) $100 per contestant. Open to youth age 11-18 and parent/guardian.

Thursday, August 16: Mort Backus and Sons Carp Fishing School Learn the basics of carp fishing, or for those veterans of the tournament, try you hand at some special tips and tricks.

What to Expect

Tom Felton is an important part of the St. Lawrence International Junior Carp Tournament and is an outspoken advocate of Carp fishing. Tom’s older brother Chris suggested a youth tournament five years ago, and it is still going strong and has grown each year.

The headquarters of the tournament are at the Donald Martin Civic Center in Waddington, the Carp Capital of the World. Fishing takes place in Waddington, Ogdensburg and Coles Creek, with possible sections in Louisville and Massena.

Angela Peterson, Crystal Lake, IL, is this year’s Grand Marshal. Angela participated in the first tournament in 2003. She took first place in her 15-18 year old division in 2004 with four fish weighing in at 70 lbs. 8 oz. and she placed fourth the following year. In 2006, she served not only as a marshal, but hosted the Century 21 Dance Party and gave out some great tackle prizes.
