Fall Foliage
Fall color is striking throughout the area and no-where more so than in the northwestern Adirondack Mountains. Driving, hiking, biking, canoeing, or any other means of transportation will bring you up close and personal to the beauty of the fall season. There is no set time for the peak of the foliage season, nature determines the best time. But the North Country compensates for seasonal differences with it's differences in elevations. The higher elevations in the southern portion of the county starts off the season and ends in the lower elevations of the St. Lawrence River Valley. Whether you visit early or late there will be color somewhere worth viewing.
